Fascinating take. Have you read John Boyd’s Destruction and Creation? The observation you have here about “ makes me more sure than ever that both sides are heading in a more child-like direction where it will take the shaking of an ever stronger rattle to get their attention” connected some dots about how we develop our view of the world. You describe regression - pulling back or reversing advancement.

From Boyd, Destructive deduction from a whole to its parts, allows for a Creative induction, where you create a new whole from the pieces you’ve disassembled.

Where else can we see a movement of established structures being deconstructed? Basically everywhere, right?

So - are we living through, or working through, a process where everything is being broken down, or regressing, in preparation where the capable among us can build it back up into a new whole? 🤯

I will check it out & really enjoyed reading about your political proposals. Though it goes back to the practicality of implementing good ideas. Yours is up there with things that would make for a better system, but so far as they break down, it does not make is any easier to redirect the broken pieces.

Though you can learn to avoid the falling pieces of glass from these broken vessels.
