Were they not people of importance to Prigozhin and the Wagner group? Or was this some decoy plane? And if your contention is that no peace treaty can be negotiated, for said reasons, then what could the west do to de escalate the war? Or is the plan to just continue this meat grinder and hope Biden doesn’t flounder and do what America always does, leave her Ally’s out to dry? On the ground here in my neck of the woods, California, no one seems interested as they were a year ago, like some abstraction or worse, like it’s not an issue anymore.
